The closest international airport is Copenhagen Airport, also known as ”Kastrup” (CPH), in Denmark. The journey time by train from the airport to Malmö is about 20 minutes. The journey takes you over the Öresund Bridge connecting Denmark to Sweden, to Malmö central station. Train tickets can be purchased from the Skånetrafiken ticket machines in the arrival hall at Copenhagen Airport, near the escalators going down to the train platform. You can pay in Euros, Swedish kronor or Danish kroner for your ticket at the airport and you can also use a debit/credit card with a chip.
Please note that you the trains from Copenhagen airport first call at Hyllie Station and Malmö-Triangeln Station before arriving at Malmö Central Station. All trains from Copenhagen Airport to Sweden will call at Malmö Central Station, regardless of their final destination.
Malmö Sturup Airport
The closest local airport is Malmö Sturup. It has some international flights from destinations within Europe and flights from other Swedish airports including Stockholm. There are bus connections from Sturup airport (‘flygbussarna‘), the trip takes about 40 minutes.
Trains from Stockholm, Copenhagen/Kastrup Aiport and Gothenburg will call at Malmö Central Station. A five minute walk will take you to the university, and the main building “Orkanen”.
